Strawberry Souffle

Sweets, chocolates and gifts, open the flyers, switch on the television and even in so many blogs, it's all about love and Valentine's Day. I  didn't bake any goodies but had made this strawberry souffle a couple of days back, what better time to post it than now. The recipe is pretty simple, calls for very few ingredients and no baking involved, but the result was a very refreshing and light dessert..

Need To Have
  • Strawberry Flavor Gelatine - 1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons
  • Custard Powder (Vanilla) - 1 + 1/2 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 2 + 1/2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Fresh Strawberries - 3 big ones
  • Whipped Cream - for decorating

Method
Mix the custard powder in 1/4 cup cold milk, boil the remaining milk with the 2 + 1/2 tablespoons sugar. Add the cold milk mixed with the custard powder to the hot milk, stir till it becomes thick, cool it. Meanwhile mix 1/4 cup hot water to the gelatine powder, mix well till it is completely dissolved, then add 1/4 cup cold water, mix and set in the fridge. Chop the fresh strawberries, mix it with the 2 teaspoons of sugar and keep. Once the strawberry jelly is set, take it in a bowl along with the custard, place it over another bowl with ice cubes, beat it well till both are mixed really well. Mix in the chopped strawberries with it and pour it in serving bowls and set it in the fridge till well chilled and set. Serve it , topped with the whipped cream and some fresh strawberries.

Sending it to Zesty Palette for the Berries - Strawberries event,
to Srav's Culinary Concepts for the Dish For Loved Ones event,
to Tickling Palates for the Let's Cook - Sweet Somethings event,
to Sumee's Culinary Bite for the Bon Vivant event,
to Anzz Cafe for the Valentine's Special event,
to Srivalli's Kids Delight hosted by Edible Entertainment event,
to Sizzling Tastebuds for the Valentine's Fest - Served With Love event and
to Teen'z Yummy Delights for the Valentine's Day event.

Note
An easier alternative to the custard, whip the strawberry jelly with vanilla icecream, mix in the strawberries and set it in the fridge.
Many souffle recipes calls for eggs and baking, this is an eggless version, the custard powder also is eggless, I had jotted this down many years back from a magazine.
